Reject elimination through a near-zero product ceiling
The industry response opposes the conference report’s 0.4 mg total-THC-per-container approach because many lawful consumable-hemp products would no longer qualify for sale.
Adopt enforceable consumer protections
The alternative advocated by NC Hemp Facts includes adult-only sales, licensing, independent batch testing, child-resistant packaging, clear labels and meaningful enforcement.
Give affected businesses a workable transition
Businesses are asking lawmakers to create predictable rules and reasonable implementation periods instead of an abrupt market-ending threshold.
